Biography
After studying at the Fribourg Conservatory and at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, Vincent Prezioso has worked on numerous albums, soundtracks, plays, musicals and films as a composer, arranger and artistic director. He works with record labels such as EMI, VIRGIN, WARNER, SONY, as well as on independent projects. As a pianist and keyboard player, he has performed in concert halls across Europe and around the world for more than 30 years, sharing the stage with prestigious musicians.
He composes for a wide range of artists, including Barbara Hendricks, Marthe Keller, Laurent Korcia, Luc Besson, Jean-Marie Poiré, Patrick Haudecœur, François Silvant, Stéphane de Freitas and Lila Downs. In the studio, he works alongside musicians such as Dave Arch (London Session Orchestra), David Munday (Tina Turner etc.), Loïc Ponthieux (Claude Nougaro etc.), Roberto Brio (Johnny Hallyday etc.), Francisco Gonzalez (Yvan Cassar etc.), Nelson Gomez (Arielle Dombasle etc.), Franck Ridacker (Yann Tiersen etc.), John Woolloff (Daniel Balavoine etc.), Simon Strauss (Slimane etc.), Éric Bouvelle and many others.
In theatre, he composes, arranges and conducts from the piano on stage the music for “ Frou-Frou les Bains ”, a show by Patrick Haudecœur which won the Molière Award for Best Musical in 2002 and was nominated at the 2020 Molière Awards. Also for Patrick Haudecœur, he composes, arranges and directs the music for “ La Valse des Pingouins ”, nominated at the 2025 Molière Awards. He has also written the music for plays such as “ Mémoire de deux jeunes mariées ”, produced by Bernard Campan with Julie Depardieu, and “ Monsieur Accordéon ”, produced by Gérard Jugnot. As a pianist and singer, he took part in the show “ Mai 68 ” produced by Philippe Tesson, directed by Stéphanie Tesson and written and performed by Christophe Barbier.
In recent years, he has been writing his own musical shows: Que Viva Offenbach (more than 25,000 enthusiastic spectators), Reviens à Youkali, Y n’faut pas s’mettre en colère with Maria Mettral and Je demande la permission de naître, with Marthe Keller.
In the recording field, he has worked on a large number of albums, including “Denise râpe” (François Silvant), “Ouvre tes mains” (Jean-Pierre Huser), “YOO BA” (Rap-from age), the soundtrack of “Ma femme s’appelle Maurice” (film of the same name), the soundtrack of “Les Gaous” (film of the same name), the soundtrack of “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada” (film of the same name), “Au Hasard des Faubourgs” (Aliose) and many others. He directed and arranged the album “ Malgré les apparences ” for Maria Mettral, composed by the talented duo Aliose (nominated at the 2019 Victoires de la Musique), which was a great success with the media and the public. In 2021, he released a solo piano EP of his own compositions entitled “ Moods ”, followed in 2022 by the album “ Vincent Prezioso and Friends ”, both available on all streaming platforms. He has just completed his new piano album, “ Moods by Vincent Prezioso ”. Recorded with an innovative process that captures every vibration and every touch, the album offers a three-dimensional sonic and emotional immersion, for a listening experience as close to the piano as possible. To be released in February 2027 on Prima Classic, with concerts from 2027 and an immersive concert-show in 2028.
In 2023, he worked with sound artist Charles-Edouard de Surville on a project creating lullabies for the perinatal unit of the Vésinet hospital, entitled “Berceuse sur le nom de…”. The workshop will end with a piano and cello concert with the talented Julie Sevilla Fraysse. In 2024, at the request of Stéphane de Freitas, he composed, arranged and performed at the Radio France auditorium theEloquentia anthem for the association’s 10th anniversary and the international final of its renowned public-speaking competition. In 2025, a music video directed by the same Stephane de Freitas premiered at La Seine Musicale.
For the cinema, he co-composed with Pierre Charvet and Yuri Buenaventura the music for the film Ma Femme s’appelle Maurice de Jean-Marie Poiré. He composed the original score for Gaous by Igor SK, produced by Jean-Marie Poiré, as well as for short films such as Le Paravent by Agathe de Laboulaye and Johnny Albert de Jacques Serres. He has also contributed to documentaries such as Cinquante ans d’Exil en Suisse and De Lutry à Cotonou, directed by Jean-Denis Borel and broadcast by TSR (Swiss French-language television). For Luc Besson, he composed the theme song of the soundtrack of the film by Tommy Lee Jones, Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, entitled “Donde Estas Papà”, performed by Lila Downs (Grammy Award winner in 2004 and 2013).
